This one is in honor of Utah, where I spent much of my life. The ONLY recipe I can think of that uses lime jello that is actually edible, although I personally prefer the orange creamsicle version (which I'll post next).
Bavarian Cream Salad
1 4-serving package of lime gelatin
4 oz cream cheese (1/2 of a regular package)
1 16-18 oz can pears
1 8-oz tub whipped topping
Drain pears, saving the juice! Bring the juice to a boil and stir in the gelatin. Keep stirring until the gelatin dissolves completely, this should take about 5 minutes. Add cream cheese to the mixture. Beat, with a mixer if needed, until the mixture is creamy and thick. It should look like a disgusting mess of green gelatin and cottage cheese at this point. Smash the pears and add them. Stir it together. It should look like pale green cat vomit. Stir in the whipped topping. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
You know what? Never mind on this recipe. Anything that looks like cat vomit while you're making it is probably not a good idea. I'll just pass on the green jello....

Thursday Recipe - Kitty Litter Cake
This is a great recipe. So yummy looking. NOT! It resembles a cat box that hasn't been cleaned for a while. But it still tastes great. It's a great one for Halloween parties. Or office parties if you want to take most of it home with you and never be asked to bring a dessert ever again.
*Note: this is not my original recipe. It's been floating around for years. This is just my version of it.
Kitty Litter Cake
1 box yellow cake mix + ingredients called for on the box
1 box spice cake mix + ingredients called for on the box
3 large boxes vanilla pudding + milk as called for on the boxes
12 oreo cookies, smashed into tiny bits
12-20 Tootsie roll candies, the bigger ones not the midgees
Make the cakes according to the directions on the box. It doesn't matter what shape cake pan you bake them in or if they stick. Once they are baked and cooled, crumble them up, then set them aside.
Unwrap the tootsie rolls. Microwave two at a time for about 10-15 seconds, just enough to soften them. Be careful not to microwave them too long or they will be too hot to handle. You want them warm enough to soften up, not cooked. Smoosh and twist them until they resemble a cat poop. Set them aside. Make as many of these as you want.
Toss crumbled cakes with smashed oreos. Add just enough pudding to make it start clumping together.
Take a large foil tray pan that looks like a litter box. Just make sure it's a clean one, not one that you have used as a litter box. I had a friend who used an actual cat litter box she bought new, but I wouldn't go quite that far. A foil tray works just fine.
Spoon the litter chunks and crumbles into the foil pan, adding most of the cat poop with the bigger clumps. Drape a few artistically over the side. Leave some half-buried on top. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Great to serve with a brand-new, clean cat litter scoop.
